Description

Pet Friendly 1 Tonne Deicer Salt Bag of EcoGrit Concentrate in granular form.

Order it online and have it sent directly to the people responsible for your businesses maintenance, or to your building site.

For maintenance teams, it is put down at a rate of 15 g per metre squared. This gives an application area of approx. 65,000 m2.

The bag in which it arrives is lined and closed, but storage is recommended in the dry. Even in large quantities, this product has no safety concerns (COSHH) or fire department (environmental) concerns.

It is safe to use around plants and animals.

EcoGrit Concentrate can work in really low temperatures (-20 °C), the ground or area can’t re-freeze. Therefore, it doesn’t need to be put down or sprayed every day, even when it is really cold.

FAQ

1. What makes a de-icer safe for horses?

Horse-friendly de-icers are made without rock salt or corrosive chemicals that can irritate hooves, skin, or legs. EcoGrit uses a gentle, non-toxic formula that’s safe for stables, paddocks, and yard walkways.

2. Can a horse-friendly de-icer be used in stables and around barns?

Yes. Horse-safe de-icers are designed for high-traffic equine areas. EcoGrit is dust-free and non-corrosive, making it ideal for stable entrances, aisles, wash bays, and yard paths.

3. Will this de-icer harm hooves or cause skin irritation?

No. Horse-friendly formulas avoid salts that dry or burn hooves. EcoGrit is hoof-safe and won’t cause cracking, dryness, or irritation even with daily use.

4. Is horse-friendly de-icer effective in freezing temperatures?

Absolutely. Quality blends like EcoGrit melt ice at low temperatures and continue working longer than rock salt, keeping yards, ramps, and turnout areas safer during winter.

5. Can it be used on concrete, rubber mats, and yard surfaces?

Yes. Horse-safe de-icers are non-corrosive and protect surfaces. EcoGrit is safe for concrete, rubber mats, cobbles, sand areas, and stable flooring.

6. Is it safe if horses accidentally lick or ingest a small amount?

Yes. Horse-friendly de-icers are made from non-toxic ingredients. EcoGrit is safe if accidentally ingested, unlike rock salt which can cause dehydration or colic.

7. Will a horse-friendly de-icer damage trailers, equipment, or metal gates?

No. These products do not corrode metal or cause rusting. EcoGrit protects metal surfaces, making it suitable for gates, trailer ramps, and yard equipment.

8. Does it help prevent slips for horses and handlers?

Definitely. Horse-safe de-icers melt ice and leave a grippy texture that reduces slipping risks for horses, riders, and staff. EcoGrit offers superior traction compared to traditional salt.

9. How much de-icer do I need for a stable yard or equine facility?

Usage depends on the size of your yard, but horse-friendly products typically require less than rock salt. EcoGrit spreads efficiently, allowing big equine properties to save money and time.

10. Where can I buy a reliable horse-friendly de-icer in bulk?

You can purchase equine-safe de-icer from eco-friendly suppliers. EcoGrit offers bulk bags ideal for farms, equestrian centres, livery yards, and rural properties with fast UK delivery.
